Whether you're a casual Apple consumer, an aspiring amateur podcaster or vocalist, or a professional audio studio musician, there's a diverse range of USB microphones for Mac users on any budget. Check out microphonesformac.com where we review some of the top selling mics in a range of categories ideal for music, vocals, podcasting, dictation and speech recognition, narration and voice-over work and more.

A New Generation Of USB 3.1 Type-C Peripherals On The Mac Platform

With the delivery of Apple's latest Retina Display USB-C 12" MacBook, the introduction of a solitary USB-C port is actually rather earth-shaking. The transition to an entirely new physical connector promises to be quite disruptive to a PC and Mac marketplace that's had 15+ years to grow quite comfortable with the status quo.

At www.usbcmac.com we're tracking the emergence of USB Type-C peripherals, adapters and cables that will be a necessary part of the transition to what is called 'SuperSpeed Plus'. They'll help ease the new transition to the new connector. Data signaling rates weill move from USB 3.1 Revision 1's current USB 3.0 5Gbps speeds to the eventual full rollout of 10Gbps USB-C in it's full USB 3.1 Revision 2 roadmap. But that's not going to happen overnight. Especially since on the Apple platform it often takes a full year or more for Apple to revise and roll-out updated Macintosh systems across its product line-up.

Stay tuned: USB-C IS THE FUTURE of PC and Mac computer gadgets for the next decade and thensome.

Apple Debuts New USB Type-C Connector On 12 Inch Retina MacBook

With the introduction of Apple's newest MacBook in Q1 of 2015 - the world got a peek at the newest MacBook with a revolutionary USB-C connector for both data and laptop recharging.

The implications of only a SINGLE port on the left-hand side of the MacBook (and a 1/8" analog audio jack on the right) raised a lot of questions about the future of peripheral connectivity moving forward.

Of course, Along with the new USB Type-C MacBook, Apple will be shipping several USB-C adapters with a conventional Type-A Female interface for existing USB 1.1 / 2.0 / 3.0 devices as well as optional VGA or HDMI video and a USB-C pass-through port on the higher-end dongles.

Stay tuned. In the meantime visit: usbcmac.com for the latest Mac USB-C news and product announcements.

USB TV Tuners For Macintosh

Accessories like a Mac compatible TV tuner can add hours of enjoyment to your Apple computing experience. Whether you receive television via Satellite, a Cable company or via Antenna - an affordable USB HDTV tuner can bring live and broadcast television right to your MacBook laptop or desktop Mac computer system.

Some of the benefits an Apple TV tuner is in the ability to not just watch, but schedule and record you favorite television shows and movies - but also edit and export your favorite content. You can burn programs to DVD disc, or convert your shows to video formats standardized for your iPad, iPod, AppleTV or other handheld video playback gadget. To get the most of your experience add a quality set of wireless computer speakers for TV in hi-fidelity - something a Mac or MacBook's built-in speakers often fail to deliver.

Be aware that there are two types of television signals: SD Analog and HD Digital. For most, buying a Hybrid TV tuner which handles BOTH signal types is the most practical. Some folk may simply opt to go All-Digital with a simpler and often more affordable Digital-only tuner device. Whether you choose a USB TV tuner for MacBook from ElGato, Pinnacle, Equinux or Hauppauge - all offer Mac specific bundles which include OS X programs for Mac owners to receive, watch and record whatever shows meets your fancy.

Coming To A Mac Near You - USB 3.0 Accessories

You can bet in the year ahead tech companies are going to bring a flood of both PC and Apple USB 3.0 hard drives, computer accessories and upgrade options. Also named 'SuperSpeed' - the emerging USB 3.0 spec promises up to 10 times the data transfer speeds of the current USB 2.0 specification. USB3 ports will remain backwards compatible with existing USB 2 computer peripherals, albeit operating at reduced speeds. As such, SuperSpeed delivers the best of both compatibility worlds, old and new.

The increased performance of USB3 will also open up a new era of PC and Mac computer accessories taking performance to a higher level. With additional electrical 'oomph' available (900mAh vs 500mAh) -- hi demand USB-powered gadgets such as USB3 computer speakers will be able to deliver nearly twice the audio power without the need for batteries. Handheld gadgets and phonescan also sync data in a fraction of the time.

The benefits of USB 3 SuperSpeed protocol will migrate to other computer accessories. For example, hi-demand gadgets like USB3 HDTV tuners and a USB3 webcam will be able to deliver the bandwidth currently needed in HD web cams or television tuners. Or, a Super-Speed webcam can deliver pristine, uncompressed High-Def webcam video and online chat abilities.

A plethora of USB 3.0 accessories, cables, device sharing hubs, backup drives, hard disk enclosures, PCI-e and USB3 SuperSpeed cards are already appearing on the market for Windows 7 PC's. Once Apple Inc. joins in with Macintosh computers offering USB 3.0, expect this technology to take everyone's computer capabilities and performance to the next level.
