The transition to an entirely new physical connector promises to be quite disruptive to a PC and Mac marketplace that's had 15+ years to grow quite comfortable with the status quo.

Apple Debuts New USB Type-C Connector On 12 Inch Retina MacBook

With the introduction of Apple's newest MacBook in Q1 of 2015 - the world got a peek at the newest MacBook with a revolutionary USB-C connector for both data and laptop recharging.

The implications of only a SINGLE port on the left-hand side of the MacBook (and a 1/8" analog audio jack on the right) raised a lot of questions about the future of peripheral connectivity moving forward.

Of course, Along with the new USB Type-C MacBook, Apple will be shipping several USB-C adapters with a conventional Type-A Female interface for existing USB 1.1 / 2.0 / 3.0 devices as well as optional VGA or HDMI video and a USB-C pass-through port on the higher-end dongles.
